About Windossier

It should really say "About Me" but it says "About Windossier" because I am going to tell you how Windossier came to be.

I own Waterfront Web Properties; a web design and development company in Port Clinton, OH. Port Clinton is a midwest travel destination on Lake Erie so I have spent a lot of hours, days and years developing travel portal websites alongside the websites I develop for local hotels, fishing charters and other tourism related businesses. I'm not plugging here, I promise. I want to give you an honest representation of who I am and how I am personally involved in a website I have taken every effort to be objective with throughout its' development.

My husband is 1/2 owner of Great Lakes Complete Home Remodeling, formerly sole owner of Erie Window & Glass, LLC which partnered with Leone Construction, Inc. to create an "under one roof" home improvement company. Great Lakes Complete Home Remodeling is also located in Port Clinton, OH.

My web design office is located within the same building as their showroom and I quickly jumped in to take on their marketing needs, including their website.

Because of those two things, three things happened.

First, because they are owner/operators, I keep the door of the showroom open and answer their phone while they are out on job sites. In doing this it was clear to me I didn't know a darn thing about windows! I love to put up cutains and fancy fun tie backs...but thrilled with the strength of a window sash? Yeah, not so much.

But I at least wanted to learn so I could be somewhat more helpful then taking a name and a number. I went back to my days of high school. I learned best by writing things down. If I read my vocabulary words over and over and over again; no good. If I wrote them down and put the definitions in my own words; A+ tests.

This leads me to the second thing that happened. There is too much information about windows to put on my husbands website. OK, that was a plug ;) I needed to be able to link to further information when appropriate and I still wanted to learn about windows! But what I found was Spanish to me. I wanted to be taught in words that I could understand. I'm not a window manufacturer, a replacement window installer or even a new window dealer. I'm a web designer! I needed laymens terms. I couldn't be the only one.

And that leads me to the last reason Windossier.com came to be. If I was going to do it, why not make it valuable to people searching for windows outside of our area. Hey what about Oregon? My husband won't ever be installing replacement windows in Portland - even if my brother does live there (OK, maybe for my brother *grin*), but there are consumers who need replacement windows in [insert your state here], window dealers in [insert your state here] and replacement window contractors [insert your state here]. My intention is that Windossier is useful for ALL of the above.

Now that you've had a nice nap, weren't you researching replacement windows?
